Getting Clean

I have been digging out of my car these last several days. It is amazing how many gross, disgusting things lurk on the bottom of my car floor. I am kinda disgusted...eeew. I found the most fascinating things: dollies coated in goo, books that were molding, candy and gum wrappers stuck on the base boards of the car, pen and pencil drawings all over the car doors, boogers or what looked like boogers and crumbs so deep it would make you cry, if you had to clean them up. I tried to clean the best I could, but I am wondering if it is a lost cause?? I had thoughts of just selling the car "as is" and seeing if anyone would bite?! Maybe I could just drive the car off of the docks, downtown and just walk away. "What, what car? I never had a car...whatever, do you mean?" The thoughts made me smile as I chipped away dried booger like goo off of my roof. I laughed at the thought of my husbands expression when I told him "I got rid of the car!" Damn, this slime...where the *bleep* did it come from?!? Do I really live with pigs disguised as sweet, adorable children??? Naw...my kids couldn't make this mess...or could they...ummmm

Cave dweller

Alaska is a beautiful land to live in... majestic mountains, deep blue skies, sapphire lakes, lush forests and unsympathetic weather. To be a true Alaskan one must be up to the challenge of living here. I have lived her for almost 19 years, in fact in June will be the anniversary. I have loved Alaska since I first visited in 1983. I was amazed at the beauty even at the age of 10. I loved the adventure, the people, towns and seeing sites that could not be seen in California. I was sad to leave. I vowed I would come back, I just didn't know how or when.
I moved back in 1991. I lived with my father and his family. I was happy to be back. I wanted the adventure, even if I was a little scared. I fell in love with Juneau and wanted to make it my home. I was willing to deal with the unrelenting rain, the ruthless bugs and the terrifying bears. I loves being here. It made me energized to walk around knowing that I was truly living in "God's country." How could it not be?? Saying anything less would be a lie.
Alaska is a state that is unmatched by any other. I am glad I live here. I am elated to raise my family here. What a wonderful childhood they will have. Life is good and I am happy to be able to live here on earth.
As to my title? As you can see I haven't posted in a while....why? I do not know, maybe I was living in a cave somewhere =) I am back...heehe.

I am a superhero and kids say funny things

This week has been overwhelming for me. Everyday has been jammed with activities or commitments that I had to do. EVERYDAY! What was I thinking to do "extra" stuff when I already have a full plate homeschooling Ian and doing activities at Sashi's school?!? I guess I must have been feeling like a "supermom" because I did in fact sign up for things....A blue and gold banquet for cub scouts, a dentist appointment for me, visiting teaching for church, a wearable art contest at school for sashi and a drive in at church for the primary. This doesn't sound like much for an average week...but you have to figure I am also homeschooling on top of this. Every last minute was filled with something....I HATED IT! I found out a few things about me though: I am a superhero (who knew) I don't need lots of sleep (overrated) and food does not sustain you adrenaline does! (cool) How did everything go? I know you are asking ... The banquet was wonderful and we had TONS of food. The dentist thinks I have the smallest mouth in the whole world for an adult and he feels sorry for me. Visiting teaching was a challenge, but I think I did a very good job. Sashi's wearable art was very cute and she had a blast parading her outfit throughout the halls of her school. The drive in was a success! (Yay) The week is FINISHED!

Sashi: Mom, I like gaming.
Mom: Oh! What do you like about gaming?
Sashi: I can always win
Mom: (smiling) You always win? How do you do this?
Sashi: I turn off the game.
Mom: Sashi when you turn off the game that is not winning.
Sashi: Yes, it is MOM...I am winning.. I never lose.

lead up story: Ian and sashi are fighting over the potty. Ian is sitting on the potty going number 2. Sashi comes running down the hall with her hands between her legs crying.

Mom: Why are you crying Sashi?
Sashi: I need to go to the bathroom.
Mom: Why dont you just go??
Sashi: Because Ian is sitting on the potty.
Mom: (shouting down the hall) IAN ARE YOU GOING NUMBER 1 OR 2?
Ian (shouting down the hall) I AM GOING NUMBER 2 AND YOU CAN'T RUSH PERFECTION!

Enough said.

I feel green

One lazy afternoon my daughter walks up to me and says, "Mom, can I eat some candy?" I told her yes she could and went on my merry way cleaning the living room. As I was cleaning not more then 5 minutes, my son appears by my side. "Mom, Sashi seems to be eating something that looks very good. She now wants to give me some, can I have it?" Sashi is standing at my other side with a big smile on her face, wanting to share her candy. I smirked and said sure. The children ran off to the kitchen and I went on working. I was alone for about ten minutes when both of my dear sweet children were at my side again. I turned off the vacuum and asked them what they needed. Ian had a strange smile on his face, one which showed me he was up to something. Sashi was jumping up and down in the same spot...wanting her brother to hurry up and tell me "the news."
Ian smiled, "Mom, I feel green *giggle* do I look green?" Before I could answer Sashi put her face mega-inches away from mine and stuck out her tongue "Mawa, I halwve a gween towunge." Ian then shoved Sashi out of the way and said, "Mom...I wanted to tell you about MY TONGUE FIRST!" I stood there before my children wondering what I should say...when I said..."Let me get the camera out!" Yay! Went the kids...and here is what I got!!

Lego attack

Ahh.... we are under attack! Lego bullets are streaming by my head!! I can't seem to get away. Why is my man not moving? OH, I KNOW WHY...my partner in crime isn't moving his character fast enough! Ugh. Then I die. I want to quit the game, but my son looks at me with his big doe eyes and I am stuck. I am stuck to play another round. I start up my character again and away we go.
We go through mazes of caves, scramble up hills by the tips of our little Lego hands and get our heads blown off by mean Nazi Lego dudes. This is all for fun. I die and die. Why do I do this? I swear it is love that draws to this game. I love my son, so I play. He is so happy to play the game and laugh at his mom swearing at a character who will not run where she wants it to go. He smiles and say, "Mom, don't worry you are getting better." I grimace back at him and thank him under my breath. I am bound and determined to get my plastic dude up the ramp so I can dig a hole and get a jewel out. WHY DO I KEEP FALLING!!!! I swear you would think I could move this guy better. You would think that after all the playing I have done in the past few months I would be an expert...but alas this is not true. I have two left thumbs or a punk ass controller which might be broken. Which ever the reason is, I will not move the way I want to. But the thing that truly keeps me going is my son smiling a huge smile the entire time we are playing together...haha...this is why I play. I believe it is all well worth it.

Funny things my kids say and do

One day Ian says to me, "Mom, I can hit Sashi and it wont hurt her at all." I remember looking at him wondering where he is going with this. I then saw the twinkle in his eye that he wanted to show me, so I said, "ok, Ian show me." Ian stands Sashi against the wall. Sashi doesn't know what to think, but she trusts her brother and does as she is told. Ian pulls back his fist and goes for the blow. Sashi terrified screams but she doesn't move. Ian stops just short of punching her. Sashi giggles and giggles until she falls to the floor. "See Mom, I can hit Sashi and it wont hurt her", Says Ian. I stood there with my mouth agape wondering is this a wholesome activity for my children to be playing. Then i say, "Wow, Ian that is really cool. Do you want to do it again for the camera?" "YES!" was both their reply. Here is the picture to prove the story is true.
A few days later:

Ian: Sashi, dont say bad words.
Sashi: What bad words?
Ian: You said Damn
Sashi: No i didnt
Ian: Yes you did and I am going to tell mom

Ian runs into the kitchen. "Mom, Sashi is saying words that we are only allowed to say in College!"

Sashi and Ian are playing in their room. I over hear Sashi screaming at Ian.

Sashi: IAN PANTERA LEAGUE!!!!
Ian: Mom, Sashi is using your words!
